7 Side Jobs To Help Pay For Your Wedding
Can we all agree that one of the hardest parts of wedding planning is setting and sticking to your wedding budget- am I right?! In my experience, while planning your wedding, life doesn’t stop. Which can mean that unexpected expenses can come up and totally throw you for a financial loop. So, what can you do to make some extra cash to help pay for your wedding? I’ve come up with a list of options that I have personally done (or have had a friend that did) in order to save for our wedding!
Pet Sitting
Pet Sitting is a great side job to help pay for your wedding. I find this option extremely easy, especially for those of you who already have a fur baby! Hosting another dog or two every now and then is a great way to make around $200 extra bucks a weekend. I personally use Rover in order to simplify this process. I just put the dates that I am available on the app and then people who are looking for someone to sit their animal contacts you and you get money for watching their animal! I personally do boarding, as I am lazy and just want the animals to come over to my house and I watch them for a couple straight days, however, there are options for walking dogs, day-boarding and more!
HealthyWage- Get paid to lose weight
This one is great for you brides trying to lose weight! All you have to do is place a bet on how much weight you can lose and in what amount of time and HealthyWage pays you. My little sister tried this option (although she wasn’t trying to lose weight for her wedding but for mine!) and guess what?! She made some money! The hard part is knowing how much to wage against yourself and actually losing the weight. Like with any bet, if you don’t win it, you lose it. However, if your planning on losing weight for your wedding, there’s nothing quite like wagering some money to really get you motivated!
Mystery Shopper
This was probably my favorite part time job I have ever had! I worked as a mystery shopper with a company that shopped Timeshares at hotels! My now-husband and I got to go to different hotels stay 2 nights, try out their amenities and listen to their sales pitch. I got $200 per gig to basically go on a mini vacation. The company provided the travel expenses, hotel stay and a meal. I just had to get as far in the sales process as possible without actually buying the timeshare. I would record the sales pitch with a phone in my purse and then afterwards wrote up an assessment based on a criteria sheet.
I would say the hardest part of this job was to seem actually interested in the timeshare for 2 plus hours only to at the very end to disappoint the timeshare representative (who was normally super nice) and tell them that no matter what were we going to purchase the timeshare that day.
This job is perfect if you are wanting to get paid for an experience, there are tons of companies whether they are restaurants, bookstores, concerts etc. that want mystery shoppers in order to make sure that their customers are having an enjoyable experience. Just be careful! There are mystery shopper scammers out there, so make sure you find one that is associated with MSPA!
Sell Plasma
Selling Plasma can be a scary experience but if you don’t mind needles, it’s a great way to earn money for your wedding while doing absolutely nothing! All they require you to do is sit and read or watch TV while they extract your plasma. I would suggest bringing your phone and plan your wedding with EventSlayer while at the plasma office so that you can plan while making extra cash! Want to know if you qualify? Check out these Plasma Donor Requirements.
Virtual Assistant
Are you super organized and have flexibility during the day? Then becoming a Virtual Assistant might be a great fit for you! This job is a bit more time intensive than the other options so far, however, it is extremely flexible since you can work from anywhere! Depending upon who you are working for, the VA job description can vary between organizing an executive schedule to posting on Social Media and more! You can find jobs like these on places like UPwork.
Tutoring
If you are a native english Speaker becoming an English Tutor is a great job to do from home and earn money for your wedding. Lots of companies are looking for native english speakers to teach chinese children how to speak english! Check out places like Teachaway, VIPKid, and QKids. Best part is that you don’t need to have a teaching degree. Typically any bachelor’s degree would work.
This is great for any young adult with time in the afternoons or early evenings to spend working and making a decent part time wage. Income can vary depending upon the hours spent, place of work and level of english you speak.
Babysitting
Ok this is a job you probably haven’t thought about doing since highschool, but it’s still a great part time job to give you some extra cash to go towards your wedding! Sites like Care.com and Sitter City are looking for reliable people that can watch children. Income is based on availability, family, hours and experience.
Hopefully, you have found some awesome side job options to help you earn some extra cash for your wedding.
