A Delicious Wedding Design
Never has there been a more delicious wedding design than this styled shoot.
We are all for a functional wedding design, and by golly, this table decor is as delicious as it is gorgeous. I imagine an extremely happy wedding guest as they sit down at their table, sharing their food with friends and loved ones.
Having a family style dinner makes for a more casual and fun-loving atmosphere than a typical plated or buffet meal option. The family style serving method makes you think of Thanksgiving and holidays where you sit down with your family and friends and pass the food around while talking and laughing.
We loved that this styled shoot went away from all the traditional meal methods that we typically see, and reminded couples that this is your event. You can do things differently, “There is more than one way to set a table,” our lovely photographer tells us.
Words from the Photographer:
The perfect wedding calls for the perfect venue – and we found it nestled in the rolling hills of Purcellville, Virginia. Seriously, this place is gorgeous. It’s the only vineyard I’ve returned to time and time again because not only is the wine great, but the views are stunning and the staff who work there are second to none. For the bride who wants to throw a killer party and have a positive impact on the environment, there could not be a better location.
The entire facility is powered by hundreds of solar panels on the south facing roofs at the winery. They call it “turning sunshine into wine.” Maybe that’s why I love their wine so much? It’s literal sunshine.
Not only that, Sunset Hills is both a bluebird sanctuary. Just imagine the bride has walked down the aisle and is in the middle of reading her vows when all of the sudden a vibrant blue bird lands on the barrel next to her and starts singing. Maybe that’s a little too Disney, but hey, a girl can dream, right? And could you ask for a better something blue? I don’t think so.
As if the bluebirds weren’t enough. Sunset Hills is also home to a monarch butterfly sanctuary. I read once that monarch butterflies are said to bring change, transformation, and new opportunities. What better time for a good omen than as a couple embarks on one of the biggest and most important journeys of their life?
So often, when brides think about their wedding day, they picture perfect table settings and intentionally placed decorations. But it doesn’t need to be that way. We wanted to remind brides (and grooms!) that there are so many ways of throwing a party and setting a table. Why stick to traditional when we can give it a bit of eclectic flair? Imagine a tablescape that welcomes anyone and everyone to take a seat and enjoy the moment without having to worry about which fork to use first. Think fresh fruit, local charcuterie, and… caviar nachos! This is what we wanted to showcase to brides and grooms as they get ready to plan the most important day of their lives.
