Intimate Family Wedding in Austin, TX
Planning a wedding is no easy task. There are so many details and ideas that can bog you down while even just planning your intimate family wedding. Here is some great advice and information on how this couple created their classic gorgeous wedding.
We loved their inclusion of handmade notes to each other for the intimate family wedding ceremony, unique coke favors, and globe guest book.
HOW DID YOU MEET?
We meet our freshmen year of high school in English class. We were best friends all throughout high school and college. We started dating our last years of college when we finally had the guts to tell each other how we really felt about one another.
WHAT IS YOUR PROPOSAL STORY?
We knew we wanted to get married to each other, and we started planning our wedding without traditionally being engaged. But halfway through the planning process, about seven months until our wedding, Nyle “officially” proposed! It was just us two, on the field of his family’s ranch while we were watching the stars; it was truly a perfect moment.
TELL US A LITTLE A BIT ABOUT YOUR WEDDING (YOUR VISION, COLOR, STYLE, AND LOCATION CHOICES).
We really wanted our wedding day to embody us a couple and focus on us committing our love to one another. Our vision was to have a small intimate wedding with our close family, some great food, and a nice drive because we love road trips. We also wanted our wedding on a Thursday because it is our favorite day of the week.
We picked Chapel Dulcinea because it is stunning! We loved that it was an open air chapel with a beautiful view of the hill country! We picked Root Cellar for our catering because the food is delicious (our family still to this day raves about the food!) and their bakery is the cutest place with a beautiful historic wall. Our locations were beautiful and cozy, which is exactly what we wanted. We wanted our wedding to be calm, earthy, romantic, and full of love.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR ATTIRE CHOICES.
For attire, we wanted to keep it kind of classic. I chose a long sleeved lace dress that I fell in love with and the skirt was exactly what I wanted for a romantic feel. Nyle chose to have a classic and simple black suit with a white button down shirt.
WHAT WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT TO THE TWO OF YOU WHILE PLANNING? WAS THERE ANYTHING THAT YOU CHOSE TO SPLURGE ON OR SKIP?
When we were planning, the two most important things to us were: photography and the food. We knew hands down that finding the perfect photographer was essential because our pictures would last a lifetime. It was very important to us to find a great photographer who captured us and our family in a beautiful way. And of course finding great food was important to us because we love to eat!
WHAT WERE YOUR FAVORITE PARTS OF THE DAY?
One favorite parts of the day would be seeing each other and sharing our Words of Affirmation to each other. Our most favorite memory was running around The Square of San Marcos to take photos! We absolutely loved getting the shot of us in the middle of the street!
TELL US ABOUT YOUR WEDDING FLOWERS.
Our flowers were absolutely breathtaking! Wild Bunches did such an awesome job capturing exactly what we wanted. For our ceremony at Chapel Dulcinea, we chose to just add some simple greenery to help tie in the beautiful green hill country. Nyle’s boutonniere was all greenery as well because he wanted to keep it simple. My bouquet was absolutely beautiful, with lots of greenery, burgundy and light pink flowers.
WHAT DID YOU DO FOR FAVORS?
Our favors were mini Coca-Cola bottles! We love Coca-Cola and we knew our family would love it as a refreshment for their drive home.
DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR COUPLES PLANNING THEIR WEDDINGS NOW?
Our advice for couples planning their wedding now would be to enjoy every moment and remember that it is y’alls day! Others may question or disagree with some of your choices but all that matters is that y’all are happy. Make sure that y’all make it a point to enjoy your wedding day!
