The Photographers Experience

“As far as a renovated barn turned wedding venue goes it had the perfect combination of rustic and elegance” at The Brodie Homestead in Sunset Valley, TX. This hot day showed no mercy when shooting the lovely couple and just as lovely a venue. That was no match for the love we felt as they played around on their noticeably spectacular day!

The friends and family, as well as us working the wedding clearly saw the well matched couple truly enjoy and have fun with their venue, and that’s what was loved most about this shoot. The full and green oak trees paving the way through full, well maintained fields. This space was such a great place to photograph with such character, by far one of the most unforgettable events!

The Wedding and Venue Style

With tall, stone filled walls from edge to edge of the indoor ceremony hall it has created such an open space for any couple to have the ability to create their wedding and truly make it their own. The hand crafted wood floors put in with such precision which made for such a clean and elegant look throughout the large spacious venue. Surely enough for all your guests, large and small parties having the opportunity to feel comfortable. Finishing off the rustic look inside are the deep brown, oak wood columns every 2 feet from each corner of the ceiling really reeling in the charm and unique feel to the reception area.

Ideas and Substitutes to make this look your own:

Though this venue alone has so much rustic style of its own there are many things you can do with decorations that can make your wedding look a lot like this style. For instance, to get the unique branch look as they had for their wedding arch you could look for a birch tree and cut off a few branches and create an arch. Making a beautiful, yet cheaper and creative way to make beautiful photos as you and your loved one say your vows. Another budget friendly idea to get your venue on a rustic style look would be to buy a few 15×15 square wood pieces at Home Depot or Lowes and stain them. To set them up and finish creating your rustic venue, place them along your aisle as if it was lined with logs.
