Winter Glam Styled Shoot
Ladies and Gents, can we agree that the age old tradition of completely white wedding gowns is over?! In this Winter Glam Styled Shoot, the gold and white dress by Hermione Elma had us absolutely drooling! The bride looked absolutely stunning in her white dress decorated with gold floral details.
The Wedding Dress
The white wedding dress that we know today, comes from the 1800’s when Queen Victoria made it popular when she wore a white lace wedding dress for her wedding. Traditionally speaking, a white dress has been a popular symbol in European Cultures to represent the chastity and purity of the bride. However, there are many cultures that have other traditional wedding colors. In China, for instance, Reds are worn to symbolize good luck in marriage. While Maylasian brides wear purples and violets.
These traditional wedding colors throws our own culture into question as to whether we need to continue with the white wedding dress popularity. I personally love it when a bride chooses a different colored wedding dress, or adds pops of color to a white wedding dress as this styled shoot did!
The Details
This Winter Glam Styled Shoot was breathtaking with its details of black, gold and emeralds. The cake design by Kakes by Kelsine, was stunning with the anemone flowers that popped against the dark cake.
The simple, hydrangea bouquet added a classic touch to the shoot that emphasized the wedding dress without overtaking it. We loved how Elegant Events by Michalea paired the simple floral designs with the glamorous linens, cake, stationary and dress. It shows that flowers are not the only part of wedding design that can absolutely wow!
If you are a couple that is not into too much floral, this wedding shoot is for you! With minimum florals, you are still able to create a stunning wedding that will shock your guests and leave them speechless.
A Toast To Florida Winter
As a born and raised Florida girl, I absolutely love the “winter” aspect shown here. In Florida, wearing long sleeves, using dark colors and going outside are all winter attributes that really stood out to me when I first saw this Winter Glam Styled Shoot. Winter is absolutely the best time to get married in Florida and this shoot shows it! With it’s gorgeous sunny weather and pristine green outdoor ceremony, you can’t go wrong!
Words from the Photographer
Here is what the photographer had to say about this styled shoot:
We have a modern design with a hint of vintage. The latest trend of velvet linens are used with a non-traditional black cake. Location set at a beautiful golf club venue.
The theme also includes floral and gold accents against glamorous winter green and black linen. Floral details are shown on the wedding dress and hairpiece, as well as the elegant black cake and table setting. We also see gold accents throughout. From the gold flowers on the wedding dress, gold vintage hairpiece, the gold table decor (chairs & candle light stands, etc), to the gold shimmer used on the bride’s makeup. And even the smallest details such as the pearls on the natural floral bouquet, the pearls on the bride’s flower earrings, to the pearl set that are securing the table napkins.
The venue chosen for its beautiful and natural landscape, has great texture and elegant details throughout from its beautiful chandelier lighting to the beautiful patterns in their furniture and decor. And offering great outdoor space along with a gorgeous 2nd floor reception area. With the Florida weather being so beautiful in the winter, this styled shoot shows inspiration for future brides that love both indoor and outdoor wedding options.
